How to check your site on diffrent browsers on various OS
Consider this scenario , I use Vista and my Browser of choice is Firefox 3 and I publish content on my blog. I check the site using Firefox and my site gets rendered perfectly on Firefox. I think everything is fine. Now Tom one of my reader is on XP and Internet Explorer , while Dick is a Mac user on Safari and good ol’ Harry is is a Linux fanatic who uses nothing but Konqueror. How do I make sure my site shows up correctly on all these various browsers ?
Checking how your site or blog is displayed on various browsers and platforms is very important aspect of site design for professional blogs. There are many services for this, but there is one problem they are not free
Recently I came across a free service to do this BrowserShots.org. You can submit your site address within BrowserShots and select the platforms and browsers you need check. Wait a few moments and reload the page to see the screenshots on your selection of browsers and platforms. There is a limitation on the number of free screenshots you can take in a day.
The problem with website that display differently on various browser is mostly the result of bad coding. Check your website if it is compatible with W3C standards. If the site doesn’t pass the test, make necessary changes to make it validate.
