Think of the opening ceremony firework you think of the amazing work done by the Chinese @ the Olympic Games opening ceremony, now think seven times bigger!!! That’s what it will be when Atlantis Hotel opens its door to the public tonight. Its said USD32 million is being spend for lavish party which includes some of the heavyweight Celebrities from all over the world.

This one-night celebration is set to be the most expensive private party ever staged. Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro and our own Kylie Minogue are some of the 2000 world celebrities that are due to attend the even.

Kylie Minogue is billed to perform an hour long set to the 2,000 elite guests including actors, musicians and politicians, for a staggering $4 million. This makes her performance the best paid in entertainment history.

There is also a planned $6 million firework display from Grucci’s, the organization which organized the displays for the Beijing Olympics. A further $3 million will be spent on catering ( a dinner designed by 4 Michelin star chefs) and other entertainment. Atlantis Hotel party guests will also be given free accommodation for the opening night party — adding a further $20 million to the bill.

Located at the trunk-top of the Palm Jumeirah, one of three palm-shaped islands, Atlantis occupies the entire central part of a huge breakwater. The 1539-room hotel is made up of two pale rose towers, which are linked by a bridge which houses a USD35,000-a-night suite. It boasts the largest waterpark in the Middle East and a gigantic aquarium in which 65,000 fish, along with an enormous whale shark, swim in 11 million litres of water.
